Sleepy at work.

Been awhile since my last real update… Just lots of pictures lately, and more to come.
The holidays have been ok. As I said before, the Hawaii trip was spectacular, and for Christmas, me and my wife sat and had a smashing time cuddling on the couch watching movies. No real plans this week except going to fighter practice today, and going to some event this weekend. Slow here at work, and I am not complaining. Its going to be bad this new semester. Florida is cold. Well, cold for Florida anyway. Highs in the low 60’s lows in the 40’s, but that is changing this week. Back to the pleasant 70’s during the day. This is why I love Florida… its warm in the winter.

Not much else to say really. Going in early all this week for work, starting at 7am instead of 8am. Thanks all of you who sent Christmas cards, they are all sitting on top of my tv.

And last, I hope you all are having a happy holiday.

Honaunau Pictures - Here are a few of the pictures we took in Hawaii when we went to Honaunau. This is the City of refuge, where if you made it here if the cops were after you in ancient times, you could come to get your sins forgiven. The feeling of the temple site is very very bad. Almost a dread feeling. Right outside the complex is nice. It is believed that there had been human sacrifice here. Posted by Hello

Almost time to go! So... Have a little sewage to make your day!

Tomorrow we leave for Hawaii, and I am stoked!

But what would a day before you leave be without some sort of stress?
Last night our septic system went wacko and sewage pumped up to the
bathtub. Well, isn't that nice? So the landlord came out this morning
took a look and it seems that we have a septic tank and we are not set
up on city sewer like I thought! There is some sort of pump that is set
up to pump overflow into the tank, but as far as I know, its never
worked since I have been here. Sooooo... The electric company is coming
out in a few hours and getting this fixed. I hope it does the job. No toilet
and no shower is not good for good hygiene. Well, anyway, wish us luck! I
will post some good pictures of all the Hawaii stuff when we get back.
We have room for 700 pictures on the memory card, and I am sure we will
fill it up :).

Thanksgiving is for Beef!

Thanksgiving is turning to be a better holiday then it used to be.

In the past, Thanksgiving for me has always been this complicated affair involving lots of people, a lot of time, and then stuffing yourself silly out of politeness because its rude to not eat everything. Did I mention that I really don’t like turkey?

This year, Phoenix, her mom Nora and I got a Prime rib roast, and threw it in the spit roaster, and made Green Beans and Yorkshire Pudding, and watched “The Order” (the other movie with the crew from “A Knights Tale”… good movie idea, bad execution by the director) and “Hidalgo” which wasn’t that bad… made us cry in the end. It was very nice sleeping in yesterday I must say.

Tonight, we start getting ready for Hawaii, which includes staying up stupid late at night so we don’t have to adjust so badly for the jet lag, and packing. I can’t wait!

ZZZZZZzzzzzzz....

Hawaii is soon!

One more week of waiting and dealing with keeping my sanity at work.

This last weekend was spent cleaning the house for the arrival of Phoenix’s mom and it took 2 days to do it to any sort of acceptability. Cleaned and mopped the floors, Cleaned the papers and magazines off the tables, carefully captured the spiders in the corners of the living room and released them outside, before vacuuming the cobwebs; Then of course the weekly scrubbing of the birdcages. Oy!

Stopped by Martin and Elizabeth’s last night and picked up their wedding gift to us, which was a Hawaiian drum thingy, which is way cool, then picked up Phoenix’s mom at the airport. We then proceeded to have dinner at cracker barrel.

Today, I go to the last fighter practice before I get married, and we pack in our free time the rest of the week. I swear coming back is going to be such a let down.

My brother is in Falluja, and is sick of being there… Don’t blame him really. But his sacrifices allow the rest of us not to have to. We are all in his debt.

They served us turkey for lunch here at work, and the dopamine is… making… me ……. Very ……… Sleeeeeppppyyyzzzzzzzzzz….

Coronation Photos!

Finally I have posted the Coronation photos…

Sorry it took so long, and I have to apologize for some of the quality. We were using a different camera and the shots didn’t come out as spiff and they should have, but there are one or two good ones… That and I don’t have photoshop, so the editing wasn’t very good either… excuses, excuses, excuses.
